Tumalo State Park rests along the Deschutes River, 8 miles north of Bend. Visitors to the park have a range of activities from which to choose, including special events held in Bend. Nearby are great hiking and mountain biking trails. Trout fishing in the Deschutes River is rewarding. Many visitors like to float in the river in a tube or raft. In winter some use the year-round park as a base for ski trips to Mt. Bachelor.

Tumalo State Park Campground features 23 campsites with full hook-ups and another 54 sites for tents or self-contained RVs or trailers. Nine tent sites are along the river. The campground also has 7 Yurts, 2 Group Campsites, and a seasonal hiker-biker site.

Tumalo State Park Campground includes 2 group tent campsites for up to 25 people and 10 vehicles at each site. Only 1 RV may be included among the 10 vehicles. Additional vehicles are charged the nightly extra vehicle fee.

Group sites have flush toilets, a group fire ring and picnic tables. Visitors may reserve an additional large rental bar-b-que by calling the park at (541) 382-3586.

Tumalo State Park Campground Yurts

Tumalo State Park Campground offers 7 Yurts. Each Yurt can accommodate up to 8 people and 1 vehicle. The Yurt has electric lighting, outlets, and heat. Each Yurt contains sleeping for 5 people - 2 double beds and 1 single bed. A tent pad is available as part of the site. Guests bring their own bedding. Outside are a picnic table and fire pit.

Two Yurts are designated as pet friendly. No pets are permitted in the other Yurts. There is no cooking nor smoking in the Yurts.

Key Tumalo State Park Campground Regulations

  1. Campfires may only be lit in provided fire rings.
  2. Purchase firewood in the park. Collecting firewood is prohibited.
  3. Bicycle riders under the age of 16 must wear helmets.
  4. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  5. There is a 5 MPH speed limit in the campground.
  6. Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times. At night they must be kept in a vehicle or tent.
  7. Secure all food and food containers in your vehicle. (Raccoons)
