Willamette National Forest

Paradise Campground

Paradise Campground overlooks the whitewater rapids of the McKenzie River, 4 miles east of the town of McKenzie Bridge. The Willamette National Forest campground was originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.

Catch-and-release fishing for trout and steelhead can be rewarding. A short drive takes visitors to Blue River Reservoir with boating and fishing. The wonderful McKenzie River National Recreation Trail passes by the campground.

Paradise Campground has 61 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. Spread through a lush, old-growth forest of Douglas fir and western red cedar, the campground has abundant shade. Eight campsites have pull-through driveways. Many sites are along the river, while others are tucked back among the trees. Four campsites can accommodate 12 people rather than the usual 8. Some campsites are available first-come, first-served. Beginning in early September, all sites are first-come, first-served.
