Steamboat Group Campground

Steamboat Ball Field, Pavilion, and Group Campground are spread through the trees and an open field near the North Umpqua River in the Umpqua National Forest. The campground is off Highway 138, about 40 miles east of Roseburg. Steamboat is a popular gathering place for active groups interested in striking up a softball game, playing horseshoes, hiking, and fishing. Anglers should check Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations regarding the North Umpqua River.

Steamboat Group Campground has space for up to 100 people. Trailers and long RVs are not permitted. The campground has a large covered picnic pavilion. There is no potable water. All facilities are wheelchair accessible. Nearby Island Campground has additional campsites.

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.
