Crooked River Campground

Crooked River Campground is in Cove Palisades State Park, north of Bend. The campground overlooks the Crooked River arm of Lake Billy Chinook. The lake is popular for boating, water-skiing, swimming, and fishing. Anglers most often fish for kokanee salmon, largemouth bass, and rainbow and brown trout. Boat rentals are available at a nearby marina. Paddlers enjoy the calm waters from fall to spring. Several hiking trails are nearby, including Crooked River Rim Trail and the short Wetland Nature Trail Loop.

Crooked River Campground feature 91 campsites for RVs, trailers and tents, all with electric and water hook-ups. Campsites include a picnic table, fire pit, and tent pad. All the campsites are on a ridge high above the lake. The reservation website includes Deschutes River Campground along with Crooked River Campground. For Crooked River, advance the pages to the E Loop. Some sites are available first-come, first-served in spring and fall.

Three group campsites for up to 25 people each are near the park headquarters.

Reservations Available Reservations are available 6 months in advance of arrival date. New sites become available online daily at 6:00 AM.

Wheelchair accessible sites: #E14, E39, E44, E70, showers, and restrooms are accessible.

(plus $8 reservation fee)

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates for some campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths.

Accessible Sites

Designated Accessible sites are usually reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate.

Key Crooked River Campground Regulations

  1. Prevent the spread of invasive pests by obtaining firewood locally.
  2. Fires are only permitted in designated fire receptacles and must be attended. No firewood may be collected in the park.
  3. Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
  4. Tents must fit within the designated campsite.
  5. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. No use of generators during quiet hours.
