Alder Dune Campground is in a lush coastal forest between Alder and Dune lakes in the Siuslaw National Forest north of Florence. Campers at Alder Dune can enjoy fishing for rainbow trout in the lakes as well as hiking along local trails. A trail from the Alder Dune Day Use area connects with the Sutton Creek Trail. The quiet campground is known as a good spot for birding and wildlife viewing.

Alder Dune Campground offers 39 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. Native shrubs provide good separation among sites. Three of the campsites have pull-throughs for larger rigs. One site is designated for tents only. On weekends reservations must be for at least 2 nights and 3 nights for holiday weekends.
