Sutton Campground is 1½ miles inland from Sutton Beach and 2 miles from Sutton Lake in the Siuslaw National Forest. The campground is 5½ miles north of Florence. Visitors to the campground find convenient hiking trails along with swimming in Sutton Creek. Sutton Lake provides opportunities from boating and fishing. Nearby Holman Vista Day Use Area (shown above) features a boardwalk leading to an accessible platform with panoramic views of the dunes and Sutton Creek.

Sutton Campground has 77 standard campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. Sites are set in a forest of Douglas fir, coastal pines, spruce, and other trees. Twenty-two of the campsites have electric hook-ups. A few pull-though sites can accommodate large RVs. During peak season all the sites may be reserved ahead of arrival date. In addition, there are 3 Group Sites.

Reservations Available Reservations are available for campsite use from early May through late September; otherwise campsites are first-come, first served.
Reserve campsites from 4 days up to 6 months in advance of arrival.

Attractions near Sutton Campground: Enjoy Sutton Creek for wading and swimming when water levels are safe. Hike the Sutton Trail to the Holman Vista Trail. Head over to Sutton Lake for boating and fishing. Enjoy birding in the area. Connect to the Alder Dune Trail.


Sutton Campground Group Campsites

Sutton Campground includes 3 group campsites. Two of the group sites (in Loops C and D) each have a couple of electric hook-ups to accommodate those who need electricity. Each of those sites have space for up to 100 people and 20 or 23 vehicles.

The site in Loop C is at an old group picnic area which has a covered pavilion and a large field for tent camping. Confirm check-in/check-out times because they may differ from other campsites.

The Loop D site is created from a collection of 11 single sites and is best for tent camping.

The third group site is located in Loop A. It can accommodate up to 30 people and 6 vehicles. It is designated for tent camping only.

All group sites may be reserved from 4 days up to 12 months in advance of arrival date.
Fees: Loop A site - $105 per night; Loop C site - $160 per night; and Loop D site - $182 per night.

Key Sutton Campground Regulations

  1. Quiet Hours run from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  2. Dogs must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
  3. Campfires may only be lit in provided fire rings.
  4. Help prevent the spread of invasive species by obtaining firewood locally.
