Cape Lookout State Park is located on a sand spit between Netarts Bay and the Pacific Ocean along the northern Oregon coast. Park visitors enjoy beach combing for shells, agates, and perhaps glass floats. Hiking trails wind through old-growth forests and out to the headlands. Hang gliders and paragliders can be seen riding the thermals.

Cape Lookout State Park Campground has 170 tent campsites, 38 full hook-up sites, and 1 site with electric and water hook-ups. There are also 13 Yurts, 6 Deluxe Cabins, 2 Group Tent Campsites, and a hiker/biker camp. Some campsites are set among the trees and others are more open.

Reservations Available Reservations are available from 1 day up to 9 months in advance of arrival date.
Maximum vehicle length: 60 feet
Check on the reservation website to be sure the campsite you select is large enough for your vehicles.
Wheelchair accessible sites: #C35 and C37 along with Tillamook cabin.
4 Yurts have ramps but are not ADA compliant inside (C38, C41, C44, and C48).
Cape Meares Cabin has a ramp but is not ADA compliant.

Cape Lookout State Park Group Campsites

Cape Lookout State Park Campground offers 2 fenced-in group campsites for tents only. Each site can accommodate up to 25 people and 6 vehicles. Additional vehicles may be added for a fee, but they must be parked in the day-use parking area. Campsites have 4 picnic tables and 2 port-a-potties in the area. Water must be brought from the spigot at the north end of the A Loop near site A50. Showers and flush toilets are available in the A Loop. The campsites are available from late May through September. A maximum of 4 pets are permitted per group area.

Cape Lookout State Park Yurts and Cabins

Cape Lookout State Park Campground offers 13 Yurts with electric heating. Although Yurts are listed for 8 occupants, there are only mattresses for 5 people. RVs are allowed as an extra vehicle. Tent pads are available at all Yurts. There is no smoking or cooking in Yurts. Some Yurts allow pets. Visitors must bring their own bedding.

The campground also has 6 Deluxe Cabins available. The cabins feature electric heating and lighting, TV/DVD combo (but no cable), hot running water, a refrigerator, and a microwave. The cabins also include a bathroom with a shower, table and chairs, and a futon and bunk bed. Visitors bring their own bedding. The cabins have a limit of 5 occupants. Some cabins are pet friendly. No RVs, pick-up campers, or camping trailers are allowed by the cabins. No smoking is permitted in the cabins.

Key Cape Lookout State Park Campground Regulations

  1. Campfires may only be lit in provided fire rings.
  2. Purchase firewood in the park. Collecting firewood is prohibited.
  3. Bicycle riders under the age of 16 must wear helmets.
  4. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  5. There is a 5 MPH speed limit in the campground.
  6. Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times. At night they must be kept in a vehicle or tent.
  7. Secure all food and food containers in your vehicle. (Raccoons)
