Wild Mare Campground

Wild Mare Campground is a horse camp in the Siuslaw National Forest on the edge of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, 1½ miles north of North Bend. From the campground riders can pick up the Wild Mare Horse Trail leading through the dunes to the beach. Near the surf, riders should be wary of changing tides, rolling logs, and sleeper waves.

Wild Mare Campground is among shorepine, Douglas fir and huckleberry. The 12 campsites at Wild Mare can accommodate tents, RVs, and large trailers. Each campsite has either 2 or 4 horse stalls. (sites #4 - 6, 9 and 10 have 4 stalls.)
