Eagle Rock Campground is along the North Umpqua River in the Umpqua National Forest, 50 miles east of Roseburg. Known as a quiet retreat, Eagle Rock is set in a forest of old-growth Douglas fir and deciduous trees. Visitors enjoy hiking, mountain biking, rafting, and fishing, while many are drawn to the unique geologic formations in the area. Eagle Rock Campground has 28 campsites. Of those, 16 sites may be reserved ahead of time, the others are first-come, first-served. Most of the campsites offer easy access to the river. Two campsites are doubles. There is no potable water at the campground.

Reservations Available Reservations are available for camping dates from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend for some sites. Reservations can be made from 4 days up to 6 months prior to arrival date. Early May and after Labor Day sites are first-come-first-served.

General Camping Information

Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.

In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

  • Visit Crater Lake National Park (37 miles).
  • Explore the geologic wonders of the area, Rogue Umpqua Scenic Byway.
  • Hike or cycle on the famous North Umpqua Trail. Consider especially the Jesse Wright Segment, which includes the volcanic remnants of Eagle Rock and Old Man Rock.
  • Spend the day at beautiful Diamond Lake. Rent a boat at Diamond Lake Resort, everything from fishing boats to paddle boats and bumper boats.
  • Experienced rafters enjoy the North Umpqua River. Anglers should check fishing regulations for the river.
  • Schedule an outing with the Oregon Mountain Guides for guided mountain biking and hiking excursions.
  • Drive east on Highway 138 to beautiful Toketee Falls.
  • Make the short hike to the popular Umpqua Hot Springs for a soak in 108 degree water.
