Riverside at Detroit Campground

Riverside at Detroit Campground is along the North Santiam River in the Willamette National Forest. Fishing for rainbow trout in the river is rewarding. Hikers find many good trails, including the challenging Minto Mountain route. More adventurous trials are found in the Mt. Jefferson-Pamelia Lake area and in the Coffin Mountain Trails. Detroit Lake is 14 miles downstream.

Riverside at Detroit Campground has 38 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. The campground is split into two sections, the southeast (upriver) and the northwest (downriver). Upriver sites are on a bluff overlooking the river and offer more seclusion, while downriver sites are more open with partial shade. Mature cedars and Douglas fir are prominent throughout the 32-acre campground. Two tents-only sites are available. Many sites may be reserved ahead of arrival, while some may be available first-come, first-served.
