Cascadia State Park Campground

Cascadia State Park is located east of Sweet Home at the convergence of Soda Creek and the South Santiam River. A trail leads to one of the park's main attractions - 150-foot Lower Soda Creek Falls. Another trail guides visitors to the beautiful South Santiam River with fishing and swimming.

Cascadia State Park Campground has 22 campsites for tents or self-contained RVs. The sites are all first-come, first-served; reservations are not available. Campsites are located along a loop near Soda Creek. Mature trees provide good shade to most sites. The campground also has 2 Group Camps and a campsite for hikers or bicyclists.

Cascadia State Park Group Campsites

Cascadia State Park Campground has 2 group tent campsites. Each site can accommodate up to 25 people. Multiple picnic tables and a fire pit are available at the sites. Group Site A is set in a forest clearing while Site B is near the cliff above the river.
Reservations Required: Call 541.967.3917. (Oregon Telecommunications Relay Service 800-735-2900 for the hearing impaired), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Fees: $100 per night for up to 25 people.
Plus a $50 reservation fee

Key Cascadia State Park Campground Regulations

  1. Campfires may only be lit in provided fire rings.
  2. Purchase firewood in the park. Collecting firewood is prohibited.
  3. Bicycle riders under the age of 16 must wear helmets.
  4. Quiet Hours are from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  5. Use of generators is not permitted.
  6. There is a 5 MPH speed limit in the campground.
  7. Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times. At night they must be kept in a vehicle or tent.
  8. Secure all food and food containers in your vehicle. (Raccoons)

Attractions and Activities

  • Discover the beauty of the park by following local hiking trails. Take the River Trail to the South Santiam River.
  • Hike the Soda Creek Falls Trail ascends to viewpoints of the magnificent falls.
  • Use caution when swimming in the river. No lifeguards are on duty and currents can be strong. The swimming area is outside the park.
  • Visit the South Falls Historic District, including the South Falls Lodge.
  • Stop by the historic Santiam Wagon Road used by 19th century travelers.
  • Learn about the history of the park when it was once resort which attracted guests to its mineral waters in Soda Creek.
  • Let your dog romp in the off-leash dog area.
  • Launch your boat into nearby Foster Reservoir for fishing, water skiing and wake boarding, and jet skiing.
  • Fish Foster Reservoir for bass, yellow perch, bluegill, crappie, bullhead catfish, Kokanee, and rainbow trout.
  • Head upstream and visit Whitcomb Creek County Park on Green Peter Reservoir.
