Whitcomb Creek County Park is on a peninsula jutting into Green Peter Reservoir east of Sweet Home. The 328-acre park is operated by Linn County Parks. Popular activities in the park include hiking, fishing, sailing, water skiing, and bird watching. A lush forest setting with an abundance of ferns surrounds the campground. Campsites are about a mile from lake access.

Whitcomb Creek County Park Campground offers 85 campsites for RVs, trailers, and tents. None of the sites have hook-ups. Several are designated as tent sites and a few others are double sites. The campground is well shaded by mature trees and is arranged inland from the reservoir in 3 loops. Water is available from two hand-pumps in the campground. A 3-night minimum stay is required for Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend reservations. Two nights are required for other weekends and on the 4th of July holiday. The campground includes a Group Camp.

The group campsite at Whitcomb Creek is set well apart from the main campground. The group site can accommodate up to 100 people with room for 6 - 10 RVs. The site includes 25 picnic tables.

  1. Quiet Hours extend from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  2. Help prevent the spread of invasive pests by obtaining firewood locally. No firewood may be collected in the park.
  3. Fires are only permitted in designated fire receptacles. Fires must be extinguished upon departure.
  4. Pets must be kept on leash and attended at all times.
