Apserkaha County Park sits on the southern shore of popular Howard Prairie Lake, 26 miles east of Ashland. Jackson County operates 7 parks around the shores of the 2000-acre lake.

Visitors find seemingly endless recreation opportunities, ranging from boating, fishing, and waterskiing to swimming, sailing, and hang gliding. Apserkaha Park spreads over 66 wooded acres with a half mile of lake front featuring a swim beach (no lifeguards).

Apserkaha County Park Campground offers a choice between 9 RV sites with water and electrical hook-ups and a dozen bunk-style sleeping cabins. The fully enclosed cabins have lightning and outdoor picnic tables and fire pits. They sleep from 6-8 people. Individual family camping (RV sites or cabins) are available first-come, first-served. The entire park can be reserved for groups ranging from 50 to 120 people. For group use there is a fully equipped kitchen area and covered dining shelter.
