Wrangle Campground

Wrangle Campground is high at the headwaters of Glade Creek in the Siskiyou Mountains, 34 miles southwest of Jacksonville. The little campground is favored by hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail and by campers who enjoy the wonderful views from the area. Nearby is a cabin built by the Soil Conservation Service in the 1930s. A rustic shelter erected by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1936 is still in use.

Wrangle Campground has 5 tent campsites in a pretty setting among mature Shasta red firs. The campsites are first-come, first-served. The campground has no potable water.

Forest Service Directions

From Jacksonville go south 6½ miles on Highway 238 to Ruch. Turn left onto Upper Applegate Road (County Road 859). Continue approximately 8½ miles and turn left on Forest Road 20. Continue 18 miles to Wrangle Gap and turn left on to Forest Road 2030. Continue along Forest Road 2030 less than 1 mile to the campground.
