Goose Lake State Recreation Area Campground rests on the Oregon-California border, 15 miles south of Lakeview.

The spacious campground is close to seasonal Goose Lake which attracts numerous migrating waterfowl. Mule deer are common around the campground. Nearby are the Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge and the scenic Warner Mountains.

Goose Lake SRA Campground has 48 campsites spread through a shaded, grassy, park-like setting. Most of the campsites have both electrical (20-amp) and water hook-ups and can accommodate tents, RVs, or trailers. Six of the campsites are designated for tents. All campsites are first-come, first-served. A pet exercise area is provided. A hiker/bicyclist site is available.

Attractions and Activities

  • Visit the Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge, 63 miles northeast of Lakeview.
  • Stop of either of the two Goose Lake overlooks along Highway 395 in California. Also, stop at the Chimney Rock Historical Monument along the highway south of Goose Lake.
  • In Lakeview find plenty of shopping and great restaurants, such as El Aguila Real.

Key Goose Lake SRA Campground Regulations

  1. Bicycles are not permitted on sidewalks or paved trails and pathways leading to buildings. They may ride on park roads and established, unpaved park trails.
  2. Campfires may only be in developed fire pits.
  3. Quiet Hours run from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  4. Dogs must be kept on leash and attended at all times. At night they must be kept in a vehicle or tent.
