Chief Paulina Horse Camp
Chief Paulina Horse Camp near 1,531-acre Paulina Lake, part of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, south of Bend. The 5-mile-diameter Newberry Caldera encircles both Paulina Lake and its neighbor, East Lake. Motorized and non-motorized boats are permitted on the lake, however there is a 10 MPH speed limit. Anglers fish the lake for rainbow trout, brown trout and Kokanee salmon. A hiking trail around the lake connects to other trails in the area.
Chief Paulina Horse Camp features 14 campsites. Eleven of the sites have corrals that can accommodate 2 horses each, 3 are designed for 4 horses. Four of the sites have pull-through driveways. An unloading area/truck parking area and manure bin are located near the center of the camp. A water tank for livestock is available, but there is no potable drinking water. Campers must have at least one horse with them to stay at the Horse Camp. Reservations that include a Friday or Saturday night must be for at least 2 nights; holiday weekend reservations that include a Friday or Saturday night require a 3-night stay.
General Camping Information
Opening and closing dates of campgrounds are only estimates, usually dependent on weather conditions. Not all campsites can accommodate trailers or RVs of all lengths. Check carefully on the website when you make your reservation to be sure your vehicle will fit your campsite.
In order to prevent the spread of invasive insects, firewood from outside the area is not permitted.

Designated Accessible sites are reserved for people with disabilities who have a vehicle displaying an accessible parking placard or license plate
