Cinder Hill Campground

Cinder Hill Campground is along the northeastern shore of 1,044-acre East Lake, part of the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, south of Bend. The 5-mile-diameter Newberry Caldera encircles both East Lake and its neighbor, Paulina Lake. Motorized and non-motorized boats are permitted on the lake, however there is a 10 MPH speed limit. Two boat launch ramps and docks are located within Cinder Hill Campground. Anglers fish the lake for rainbow trout, brown trout and Kokanee salmon. A hiking trail connects the campground to the Crater Rim Trail and other area trails.

Cinder Hill Campground has 103 campsites among the trees along the shore of East Lake with no site more than a short walk to the water's edge. Campers enjoy beautiful views of the lake. All the campsites can accommodate tents, and nearly all have space for RVs or trailers. There are no hook-ups. Reservations that include a Friday or Saturday night must be for at least 2 nights; holiday weekend reservations that include a Friday or Saturday night require a 3-night stay.
