Notice: The 2018 Watson Creek Fire burned through portions of the forest near Deadhorse Lake, but the lake itself and much of its immediate surroundings survived untouched. The old dock is in obvious need of repair (2022), but some campsites are in good order.

Deadhorse Lake Campground is 31 miles southwest of Paisley in the Fremont-Winema National Forest. Deadhorse Lake, despite its unfortunate name, is popular for swimming, fishing and non-motorized or electric-motor boating. A network of trails connects Deadhorse Lake with Campbell Lake and other destinations.

Deadhorse Lake Campground has 9 campsites near the lake which can accommodate tents, RVs, or trailers. All the campsites are first-come, first served. Nearby, but away from the lake, is a group campground with 7 campsites.

Deadhorse Lake Campground Location: From Paisley drive south on County Road 2-08 and then left onto Forest Service (FS) Road 33. At FS Road 28 turn right, followed by a left turn onto FS 033.
